I recently upgraded to ubuntu 16.04 and my SD card reader is not working. Use a spare SD card to test if the card reader can’t detect any card that’s plugged in. When I plug a card reader into a usb port with a usb cable, the pc recognizes it and I am able to work with the pictures on the sd card.
